The Kalebic Lab shares NF1 project progress at the 2026 GFF meeting in Detroit

Building on our expertise on brain developmental, we apply similar concepts to glioblastoma, where cancer stem cells exploit developmental programs to support tumor growth, invasion, and therapeutic resistance. Our work has recently flourished through a joint Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) research project in collaboration with the Soskic Lab, with a study supported by the Gilbert Family Foundation. We were excited to present our latest progress at the 2026 NF1 Meeting in Detroit, where we had the opportunity to share our findings, exchange ideas, and engage in inspiring discussions with researchers and clinicians from around the world.
The meeting highlighted the strength of the global NF1 community and the importance of bringing together complementary scientific and clinical expertise to address the challenges of this complex disease. We are deeply grateful to the Gilbert Family Foundation not only for its generous support of our research, but also for fostering meaningful interactions that accelerate innovation and collaboration across the field.
As our work continues to evolve, we look forward to strengthening existing partnerships and building new collaborations with researchers and clinicians worldwide, contributing together to a deeper understanding of NF1 and, ultimately, to better outcomes for patients.
